A boy died and 12 others were injured when two cars collided head-on north of Taif. One car was carrying eight members of a family, a police said. Their nationality was not stated in the report. A Saudi was driving the other car with five passengers. In Taif Industrial Estate, a speeding car on King Khalid Street knocked down a woman crossing the street near a polyclinic. Capt. Ali Al-Malki, Taif Traffic Police spokesperson, said the motorist has been arrested. On Umm Al-Doum Road, a car overturned injuring five of its occupants. At the southern gateway to Bariq, a Saudi died and another was injured when their car collided with a truck. On Shihar Road, a cyclist who suddenly emerged from a side road caused a motorist to swerve off and crash into an advertisement billboard. The seriously injured motorist was rushed to hospital. Elsewhere, a truck accident closed the longest tunnel on Shihar mountain road for four hours. The truck had veered off the road and crashed. Traffic police teams used heavy machinery to tow away the truck. The injured driver was taken to hospital, police said.
