Condoleezza Rice will make her first trip to Berlin as U.S. Secretary of State this later week to discuss the post-election situation in Iraq and Iran's nuclear activities, the German government said Monday. Rice will meet Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder at his Berlin office Friday, said the chancellor's spokesman, Bela Anda. "The range of themes is extensive _ the situation in Iraq after the elections, the situation in Iran and Middle East policy will be at the center of the talks," along with U.S. President George W. Bush's planned visit to Germany Feb. 23, Anda said. Besides Berlin, Rice will visit several other European countries, as well as Israel and the West Bank.
