A modest earthquake jolted the Iranian city of Bam on Sunday, raising memories of the catastrophic quake in December 2003 that killed more than 30,000 people, the news agency IRNA reported. The tremor measured 4.0 on the Richter scale but caused no damages. According to official figures, at least 31,800 were killed in the quake, but residents of the southeastern city said the death toll was double that. Another quake, measuring 4.5 , jolted the western province of Azerbaijan. There were no initial reports of damage.
