Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Alsuwailim, the Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, today met with several senior Thai government officials in Bangkok. During his meetings with Thailand's Prime Minister Taxin Shinwatra, Vice Prime Minister Su Wat, and the Minister of Interior who is also supervisor of relief works in the southern regions of Thailand, respectively, Dr. Alsuwailim conveyed the condolences of the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the relatives of the victims of the earthquake and tsunami which devastated parts of a number of South Asian countries. He told them that the purpose of his current tour of Thailand and other countries in the region is to assess the situation, estimate the requirements needed by the affected people in the region and propose the mechanisms to carry them out. Later, Alsuwailim visited a number of affected regions in Thailand.
