The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajil, affirmed that the health status of Umrah performers and visitors in Makkah is reassuring as no epidemic outbreaks, diseases, or events threatening public health have so far been recorded among them, citing the keenness of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince to provide the best health care for Umrah performers and visitors and preserve their health and safety. He pointed out that the Ministry of Health continues to provide preventive, curative and ambulatory services for Umrah performers through hospitals and primary health care centers in Makkah region and health centers in the Grand Mosque of Makkah, explaining that the preventive plan prepared for the Umrah season of Ramadan for 2022 includes preventive measures, epidemiological examination procedures and response to infectious diseases of epidemiological dimension. Dr. Fahd Al-Jalajil further said that the Ministry had recruited more than 18,000 manpower to serve Umrah performers and visitors, stressing that during the twenty days of the blessed month, more than 7,200 Umrah performers were served through emergency centers, Al-Haram Hospital and the hospitals in Makkah, while 36 emergency surgeries, 291 dialysis and 20 catheters were conducted. On the occasion, the Minister of Health expressed his thanks to the Kingdom's leadership for their unlimited support to the Ministry and its employees and all sectors of the country operating during the Umrah season, praying to Allah Almighty to forgive Umrah performers and visitors and accept their Umrah and obedience and to return home safely.
