The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, has reiterated the Council's firm position to support legitimacy to end the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the three references represented in the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue conference and Security Council Resolution 2216. This came during a meeting with the Yemeni Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, today, on the sidelines of the Secretary-General's participation in the 17th edition of the Manama Dialogue. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Hajraf stressed the GCC states' keenness to restore security and stability in Yemen, and the council's support for the efforts of the United Nations to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis per the three references.
