Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Naif Falah Al-Hajraf met here today with President Abdu Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen. During the meeting, the GCC Secretary General affirmed the firm position of the GCC states regarding supporting the Yemeni legitimacy to end the Yemeni crisis via a political solution based on the three references, including by the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution no. 2216. He also expressed his welcome of the Yemeni government headed by Dr. Maeen Abdul Malik following starting its works from Aden, appreciating the tangible achievements and efforts exerted by the Yemeni government in order to enhance stability, recovery and development in the liberated governorates. Dr. Al-Hajraf affirmed the GCC's keenness to restore security and stability in Yemen as well as the GCC support for the UN efforts aiming at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis according to the three references. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
