Pakistan is sending a task force to Indonesia and Sri Lanka as part of its efforts to provide relief assistance to the victims of the Tsunami, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said. The first batch comprising Pakistan Army doctors, paramedics and army engineers departed on Monday (January 3) in two C-130 aircraft. The task force assigned for Indonesia comprises 165 persons of Pakistan Army Engineers, Military Engineering Services and 57 Pakistan Army doctors and paramedics staff. The task force will embark from Pakistan Air Force base Chaklala, near Islamabad, in six C-130 aircraft of Pakistan Air Force while heavy equipment will be transported by sea in ships of Pakistan Navy. Deployment of task force in Indonesia will be completed by the end of next week.
