Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari was in Pakistan on Monday to hold talks with President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and other officials on Iraq's elections slated for next month, an official said. Zebari was scheduled to meet with his counterpart, Khursheed Kasuri, and Musharraf on Monday for discussions on security and reconstruction in Iraq, a Foreign Ministry official said on condition of anonymity. The two sides will also discuss the Jan. 30 elections in Iraq and how Pakistan can play a role in Iraq's rebuilding, he said. Zebari was also expected to meet with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Tuesday before returning home.
