More than 350 journalists and media representatives are set to take part in the coverage of the two-day 25th summit meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council scheduled for Manama, Bahrain, on Monday. This unprecedented media presence embodies the interest of Arab, Islamic and friendly countries media in the GCC summit meetings' resolutions and recommendations in all fields. Analysts are gearing forward to the decisions and recommendations expected to come out of the meeting, particularly towards the region's tense issues of Iraq and Palestine. Yesterday, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, host of the summit, called it Zayed summit in recognition of the role of late president of the United Arab Emirates in the service of the Arab Gulf region and in enhancing the ties of cooperation and fraternity among the GCC member states since the inception of the GCC march from Abu-Dhabi in 1981. However, political and economic analysts called it the Economics Summit as the economic issues on the agenda are expected to attract the attention of the leaders.
