Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that for many decades the wise leadership has provided the Ministry of Defense's personnel with all living needs and the best services due to their great efforts to protect the homeland and preserve its gains. In this regard, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, inaugurated eight housing and medical projects for Ministry of Defense's personnel in a number of regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the paper said. The huge financial value for these projects which amounts to SAR 4 billion reflects the exceptional interest being provided by the wise leadership for the armed force personnel, as they will enjoy living in 3797 model housing units built on an area estimated at 83 million square meters, the paper added. For best medical services, HRH Crown Prince directed to provide treatment services at the highest possible level for these loyal people and their families, in addition to establishing new medical centers, expanding old facilities and developing treatment services, the paper further added. Such unprecedented care and attention come in line with the programs of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 which aims to improve the quality of life for all civilians, the paper concluded. In another context Al-Yaum newspapers reported in its editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first worldwide in three global indicators, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the peak of the pandemic. Additionally, these achievements demonstrate the tremendous efforts being exerted by the government of Saudi Arabia to protect health and safety from the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first in the response of entrepreneurs to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the government response in supporting entrepreneurs, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report for 2020-2021. The newspaper added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also continued advancing in global indicators, maintaining its high ranking in the "Food Standards" index, which is a subcomponent of the Global Food Security Index, achieving first place worldwide in 2020. The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) includes sub-indicators. In these indicators, Saudi Arabia also ranked first. It advanced to 8th place, during the peak of the pandemic, in the self-sufficiency of food supply index among a set of 113 countries. Saudi Arabia also surpassed 105 countries in the growth of grain and vegetable production, advancing nine ranks, compared to 2019.
