The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has organized the "National Dialogue for Sustainable Food Systems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" headed by the Governor of Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) Eng. Ahmad Al-Fares, with the participation of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021. During a key speech to mark the occasion, Al-Fares confirmed that Saudi Arabia has adopted many strategies and programs to promote sustainable agricultural development and increase the agricultural arena, to contribute to achieving food security at the national, regional, and international levels, and preserve natural and environmental resources, including the Food Security Strategy and the Rural Development Program. He stated that the UN Food Systems Summit's goal is to achieve measurable progress towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, raise awareness, and enhance the level of public debate on how to help reform our food systems. For his part, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Environment, Water, & Agriculture Eng. Ahmed Al-Eyada confirmed that Saudi Arabia has taken several important steps to work at all levels of food systems and was able to make remarkable progress towards achieving sustainable development.
