A powerful explosion rocked a crowded public market in the southern Philippines Sunday, killing at least seven people and injuring nearly 30 others, police said. The mid-afternoon blast, apparently from a homemade bomb or a grenade, killed three people instantly in the market's meat section in General Santos city, police Superintendent Willy Dangane said. Four other people later died in hospitals, said police officer Danilo Caminade No other details were immediately available.
