Published in Saudi Press Agency on 13 - 06 - 2021

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Bilad, Al-Yaum and Okaz newspapers reported in their editorials that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, countries of the world, based on their capabilities, have taken different measures to tackle the pandemic. In this regard, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has exerted all efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens and residents and the return to normal life.
Therefore, the Kingdom's decision to limit availability of registration for those wishing to perform the Hajj rituals for the year 1442 AH to citizens and residents inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia only, comes based on the government's keenness to hold the Hajj ritual in a safe and health manner, maintaining the safety of everyone.
The newspapers further added that Islamic countries, organizations, institutions and personalities have responded and welcomed the Kingdom's decision to limit this year's Hajj to residents and citizens in accordance with utmost health precautionary measures and security requirements to ensure the performance of Hajj in safe and healthy conditions.
The newspapers concluded that the decision takes into account the overall health condition, which requires taking the necessary health protocols, precautionary measures and preventive procedures to protect the health of everyone and ensure their safety in light of the developments related to the Coronavirus.
In another context, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia leads the Islamic world to achieve further security, safety and stability.
Since the era of the founder, King Abdulaziz, and until this prosperous era, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has good relations with countries of the world, especially Islamic countries.
In this regard, the newspaper pointed to Saudi Arabia's auspices and support for the "Declaration of Peace in Afghanistan" conference held in Makkah and hosted by the Muslim World League (MWL) with the participation of senior scholars in the Republics of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In this conference, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had a historical and pioneering role in making this conference a success and achieving its goals, by establishing security, peace and stability in this brotherly country, which has always suffered from wars between its different parties, the newspaper concluded.
