The 80th session for the Executive Council of the Arab League's Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ALESCO) will be held here on Sunday. The participants of the five-day meeting are scheduled to review the proposal of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pertaining to the improvement of the teaching of the Arabic language as well as the outcome of the meetings earlier organized by ALESCO including the fourth seminar for the Arab ministers of education, held in Lebanon last May, as well as the 14th seminar for the Arab ministers of culture, recently held in Yemen. They will also review issues pertaining to the participation of the Arab countries in Frankfurt International Book Show and Sanaa as the capital of the Arab culture in 2004. On the other hand, the Executive Council will review the programs and budget of ALESCO for 2005-2006 in addition to means for the development of the educational methods and the strategy of publication of the scientific and technological culture.
