Statement by the Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki
"The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has handed-over and repatriated one the Yemeni children recruited by the terrorist, Iran-backed Houthi militia to the Legitimate Yemeni Government this morning (Monday 24 May 2021)
The hand-over and repatriation procedures of the child recruit to the Legitimate Yemeni Government were attended by an ICRC representative, as well as representatives from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the Saudi Human Rights Commission, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and specialists from the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition.
The Child Protection Unit in Armed Conflict at the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has rehabilitated and repatriated a total of (147) Yemeni child recruits since the onset of the Yemeni conflict. Those children were recruited, exploited and thrown into battlefronts in the Southern boarders of the Kingdom by the terrorist Houthi militia. Such heinous acts are gross violations of the customary International Humanitarian Law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child."
