Muslims throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia performed "Istiska" (rain-seeking) prayers on Monday morning. In Makkah, Sheikh Dr Abdul-Rahman Al-Sudais, the Imam of the Haram, who led "Istiska" prayers at the Holy Mosque, urged all Muslims to repent and rectify their behavior, and to strictly adhere to the teachings of Islam. He attributed the problems of drought caused by scarcity of rains to the sins committed by the Muslims and their failure to behave properly in line with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the Prophet's teachings).
