Official Spokesman of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) Captain Mohammed Al-Nujaidi said that the security pre-emptive follow-up of activities of criminal networks, which plan to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has resulted in foiling an attempt to smuggle 2,466,563 amphetamine pills hidden in a shipment of pomegranate fruit. In a statement, Captain Al-Nujaidi said that five members involved in the case were arrested, including 4 citizens and an emigrant. He added that the detainees were apprehended and faced initial legal procedures before being sent to the Public Prosecution.
