Suspected separatists attacked a security camp in the Indian-controlled portion of Kashmir on Friday, killing five paramilitary guards, police said. One of the attackers also died. At least two rebels attacked the Special Operations Group's camp in Sopore town, hurling grenades and firing bullets, said Junaid Ahmed, a local police officer. Paramilitary police guarding the town hall next door rushed to the scene as reinforcements, Ahmed said. Five of them died and seven others were wounded in the gunfight, he said. One of the attackers was killed, while a second rebel was still hiding inside the camp and firing intermittently at the security forces, Ahmed said.
