His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense made a phone call today to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Mustafa Al-Kadhimi. During the call, they discussed the "Middle East Green" Initiative announced by HRH the Crown Prince, which aims, in partnership with the countries of the region, to plant 50 billion trees as the largest reforestation program in the world, and the importance of improving the production efficiency of oil production processes and benefiting from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a leader of the oil industry. They also reviewed the benefits of the project for the region and the world, topped by facing environmental challenges and improving the quality of life, in addition to achieving a reduction in global carbon levels. The Iraqi Prime Minister lauded the initiative, stressing his country's support to achieve its goals.
