Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Eastern region, will patronize here on Sunday the International Conference on Computer and Data, due to be organized by Dhahran-based King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals. Director of the University Dr Khalid Al-Sultan said the conference will provide an opportunity to exchange expertise and knowledge in the sphere of computer. Meanwhile, Dr Mohammed bin Omar Budeir, the Undersecretary of the University for Higher Studies and Scientific Research and Head of the conference's organizing committee, said the program of the conferee includes 17 workshops and six lectures. On his part, Head of the Department of Computer and Data at the University and member of the conference's organizing committee Dr Kan'an Faisal said a number of international experts and academicians will participate in the conference which will discuss some important topics including the electronic government in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as electronic education, the systems of data security, and systems of networks. On the fringes of the conference, an exhibition will be organized on the latest computer technology with the participation of a number of international and national companies.
