Death toll in Chinese mining accident rises to 68 =

The death toll in a mining accident in northern China rose to 68 after three miners were found dead, official news agency Xinhua reported Saturday.
Nine officials have been arrested in connection with the accident, which happened a week ago when a fire broke out in a mine in Shahe city in Hebei province.
The fire spread to four adjacent mines that had connecting shafts. It was caused by a cable fire.
