Emergency crews on Tuesday recovered four more bodies from a Chinese iron mine that suffered a devastating fire, bringing the confirmed death toll to 61, the government said. Four miners were still missing from the blaze Saturday, which was blamed on a faulty power cable in the mine in Shahe, a city in northern province of Hebei, the official Xinhua News Agency said. The fire spread to five connected mines, suffocating miners where they worked. Thick smoke slowed rescue efforts. Fifty-one miners were rescued, Xinhua said. Police have detained the mines' managers and frozen their bank accounts, according to state media.
