Germany's main DAX share index improved 0.34 per cent to 4,139 in early trading on the Frankfurt stock exchange Thursday, with the market picking up on Wall Street gains. The secondary MDAX edged up 0.12 per cent to 5,245 and the technology TecDAX listing rose by 0.13 per cent to 515. The euro meanwhile hit a record high of 1.3194 dollars in early trading before settling back at 1.3170 dollars. The dollar was worth 76.07 euro cents. On Wednesday, the euro had reached 1.3178 dollars after the European Central Bank set a reference rate of 1.3146 dollars.
