The British House of Lords has honoured United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Economy and Planning, Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi, by awarding her a special prize in recognition of her achievements in institutional administration. Sheikha Lubna, who until her ministerial appointment was the Chief Executive of the Tejari.Com, was invited to the House by Lord Ahmed of Rotherham, a Muslim Lord on the ticket of the Labour Party. She is seen as a model in institutional administration in the Gulf region for the significant role she played and her immense contribution to the development of e-Commerce in the Middle East. After receiving the award on the floor of the House, Sheikha Lubna toured its various sections to acquaint herself with the House, which dated back to the 14th century, according to a report circulated by the UAE news agency "WAM." Under her administration, Tejari.Com had won a number of laurels, including the Superbrand Award which Tejari.Com won this year and the 1st Trade Mark Award it won from the Gulf Marketing Review.
