Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad and Al-Yaum newspapers reported in their editorials that after the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia targeted Abha International Airport, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed in a new message to the Security Council that it will take all necessary measures to maintain its territories and the safety of its citizens and residents, in accordance with the international laws. Now, the entire world has witnessed the outrageous Houthi attacks with using ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drones against civilian objects and civilians in Saudi Arabia, in flagrant violation of international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, the papers added. The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Muallami, emphasized that the continuation of such terrorist acts by the Houthis would undermine UN efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen and would destabilize regional security and international peace, the papers further added. In this regard, Ambassador Al-Muallami, called on the Security Council to strongly condemn these terrorist acts and assume its responsibility towards the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia to stop its threats to international peace and security and hold them accountable over these terrorist acts, the papers concluded.
