Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received at his office here today Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf and a number of General Secretariat officials. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh commended the positive outcomes of the 14th meeting of the Speakers of GCC Shura, representatives, national and nation councils that was recently hosted by Bahrain. For his part, the secretary general expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts being made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the Secretariat General of the GCC. Dr. Al-Hajraf pointed to the depth of Gulf relations in order to achieve further progress in the march of the joint Gulf action. He also praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's international leadership that has been achieved through its presidency of the G20, affirming that this reflects Saudi Arabia's position and strength at regional and international levels. During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest between the Shura Council and the General Secretariat and means of enhancing work and cooperation in relation to the meetings of Shura, representatives, national and nation councils in the GCC countries, in addition to coordinating parliamentary work between legislative councils and unifying efforts to serve Gulf positions in regional and international parliamentary forums. They also reviewed the joint Gulf action process within the framework of the GCC, as well as supporting the Gulf work system to achieve its goals and the aspirations of the peoples in the GCC countries.
