Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh and Al-Bilad newspapers reported in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saud Arabia has achieved great success in its presidency of the G20. The papers said that Saudi Arabia was able to unified the international efforts to address the challenges and crises facing the world, topped by Coronavirus pandemic. The papers also said that G20 summit emphasized in its communiqué the need for coordination of global measures and seeking for solidarity and multilateral cooperation to meet the current challenges and realize the opportunities of 21st century for all, through empowering people, safeguarding the planet, and shaping new horizons. The papers added that the summit reached to a set of decisions and procedures in order to overcome the pandemic crisis and its repercussions, recover the global economy, protect lives, jobs and sources of income, as well as create job opportunities for all. The papers further added that the summit confirmed the need for assist the developing countries and mobilize the necessary resources to meet urgent financing needs in the field of global health to support research, development, manufacturing and distribution of diagnostic tools and safe and effective treatments and vaccines for the novel virus. The papers concluded that the contents of the closing speech delivered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz reflected the great success of Saudi Arabia in its presidency of the current session of the G20 and in leading the international efforts to confront the pandemic over the past year. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking for sustainable cooperation with its international allies in order to bring peace, consolidate human rights and provide the highest quality of life for mankind . In this regard, the paper added that the European Union has lauded the agreement of the leaders of the G20 countries to confront global epidemics and economic challenges at the conclusion of G20 summit, chaired by Saudi Arabia during this year in Riyadh. The paper concluded that this great progress reflected the unprecedented efforts being exerted by Saudi Arabia for more cooperation at regional and international levels.
