Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rejects any attempt to link Islam with terrorism and condemns the offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) or any of the Messengers peace be upon them. The paper added that Saudi Arabia calls for intellectual and cultural freedom based on respect, tolerance and peace that rejects practices and acts that generate hate, violence and extremism and violate the values of coexistence and mutual respect among peoples The paper concluded that Saudi Arabia always reiterates its firm approach and stance in serving Islam and Muslims in various issues in addition to its pioneering role and its unremitting efforts supporting all initiatives and endeavors that guarantee regional and international security and peace. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the entire world is facing severe economic and health challenges due to novel Coronavirus pandemic. The paper added that in these difficult and unprecedented circumstances, the Saudi economy has confirmed its strength and capacity to meet the requirements and challenges of this critical stage. The paper further added that to confront these challenges, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud called for holding an Extraordinary G20 Leaders' Summit under his chairmanship, in addition to setting a roadmap for the world on various tracks in present and future. The paper concluded that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reiterated in his speech yesterday that the pandemic demonstrated the resilience and strength of the Saudi economy and that Saudi Arabia is determined to enhance levels of growth and prosperity, face exceptional challenges, and realize opportunities of the 21st century for all.
