Insurgents clashed with U.S. forces Thursday in the restive central Iraq town of Ramadi and Americans detonated a weapons cache hidden in a home after arresting its owner, witnesses said. The U.S. military said Marines "have detained individuals" amid increased security operations in Ramadi. "Operations are still ongoing," according to 1st Lt. Lyle Gilbert. Rebels also fired a rocket-propelled grenade at a U.S. position on the roof of a government building in the regional capital of Ramadi, drawing American fire, witnesses said. No casualties were reported. Witnesses said U.S. forces also fired on a car after its driver abandoned the vehicle, causing a huge explosion after the fuel tank was hit. Gilbert said he had no report of Marines firing on any vehicle.
