Represented by the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Tamimi, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took part, in the virtual inauguration ceremony of the World Summit of Information Society. Addressing the ceremony, the governor reasserted the significance of digital shift, as it is the new lifeline and the tool to realize growth as well as welfare, especially as all vital sectors such as health, education and commerce are depending on it as a base and facilitator for continuance of works and businesses, that would mitigate the impact of Coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia culminated this participation by winning seven awards and excellence certifications, in the competitions held during the summit, in grace of the best of projects and enterprises that utilize communications and information technology's techniques, to carry out the outputs of the world summit of information society, raising the overall load of the Kingdom to 10 awards, in addition to 22 excelling certificates, that were won during the previous summits, since inception, in 2012.
