Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs has issued decisions on forming the local supervisory committees of municipal council elections in the Eastern region; Baha, Assir, Najran and Jazan regions and Al-Ahsa Governorate. Among other things, the committees will supervise the implementation of rules, regulations and instructions organizing the electoral process; supervise candidates' electoral campaigns; and receive the results of final polls from the specializing committees and submit them to the Election General Committee with which they will be connected. The committees will hold at least one periodical meeting per week or an urgent meeting if necessary upon the Committees' chairman.
