Salam Al-Farsi said it had reviewed topics on the agenda and adopted the following resolutions: In the light of a memorandum submitted by His Highness the Minister of Interior pertaining to the amendments on some articles of the nationality system, the Cabinet approved the amendment of articles 9, 12, 14, 16, 17, 21, 26 and 27 of the system of the Saudi Arabian nationality, issued by the Royal decree number 8/20/5604 dated on 22/2/1374. The amended articles will be as follows: Article 9: it will be possible to grant nationality to expatriates who meet the following conditions: a- He should be an adult and has been residing (in the Kingdom) for at least ten consecutive years. b- He should be fit physically and mentally. c- He should be of a good behavior and without a judicial verdict against him for imprisonment for a moral crime for a period that exceeds six months. d- He should be of a vocation that the country is in need of it. This condition is not applicable for those who were born in the Kingdom from foreign mothers and unidentified fathers. e- He should be earning money through legal methods. f- He should have a good command of the Arabic language, reading and writing. The applicant for nationality should attach his application with a residence permit and passport or any other document considered by the concerned authorities in the same status of the passport, or any other document pertaining to the nationality the applicant wants to get rid of it, or any other paper he is supposed to present in line with the rules of this system. --More 1336 Local Time 1036 GMT
