Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues, at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Saudi tourists are seen as one of the biggest spenders in this field. According to the Tourism Information and Research Center (MAS) affiliated to the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudis spent more than SR 30.5 billion ($8.1 billion) on tourism abroad in 2018, the paper added. The paper concluded that if the international flights reopen, tourism will not be as it was before COVID-19 pandemic, as all the precautionary measures are still in place in various destinations. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that since the launch of its Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made qualitative leaps in achieving its sustainable development march in all sectors and fields in order to enhance the strength of the national economy, its non-oil capabilities and diversify public revenues. The paper added that in renewable energy field, Saudi Arabia launched various projects for solar and wind energy with Saudi and foreign investments, along with localizing expertise and manufacturing for this promising sector within the ambitious goals for the economy.
