The Ministry of Health announced here today that 2591 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported, raising the toll in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to 95,748 cases, with 24,490 active cases, undergoing medical treatment, however the majority are reassuring, but 1412 cases are critical. On the other hand, another 1651 cases of recovery were reported, too, a fact that pushed the tally of recoveries up to 70,616. The percentage of the Saudis among the reported cases is 46 compared to 54 for the Non-Saudis, and while females constituted 32 per cent of the cases, males represented 68 per cent. Coming to age categories, elders were 4 per cent, children 13 per cent and the adults 83 per cent. Riyadh recorded 719 cases, Jeddah 459, Makkah 254, Madinah 129, Hafouf 102, Dammam 90, Khobar 81, Qatif 76, Jubail 66 and the remainder was distributed among other cities and towns, across the Kingdom. In terms of laboratory checkup, in the Kingdom, 21,763 checkups have been added, taking the total of confirmed checkups to 908,972. The ministry reiterated calling the public to abide by handwashing, with water and soap, as an important means to prevent Coronavirus spread, in addition to putting on a cloth or medical mask or any other tight cover on the nose and mouth, with exception for those inside closets. It recommended anew those wanting to use the self-assessment service via Maueid app, enquire or consult to call on no.937 of the Health Communication Center, working around the clock.
