Colombian and U.S. drug interdiction forces arrested four suspects Wednesday and seized 1.7 tons of cocaine on a speedboat heading to Mexico, police said. The director of the Anti-Narcotics Police, General Luis Gomez, said that the boat was captured in the Caribbean in international waters near Providence Island. He said that Colombian and U.S. police had been investigating suspected traffickers for 45 days prior to Wednesday's captures. Colombia is the world's main cocaine producer and a top heroine exporter, as well.
