The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi praised the new mining investment regulation approved by the Council of Ministers recently and its role in the development of mining industry in the Kingdom. In a statement delivered at a press conference held here today on the fringes of the symposium titled '' Mining Investment Opportunities in Makkah Region'' organized by the ministry of petroleum and mineral resources in cooperation with Makkah-based Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Al-Naimi said that the regulation comes in line with the Kingdom's open economic policies and it ensures fair and equal treatment for all investors. The minister shed light on the 61-article regulation, expecting that it will contribute to various fields comprising economic, industrial and social development. Then Al-Naimi replied to reporters' questions. He stressed that the new mining investment regulation does not apply to petroleum, gas and their derivatives since they are governed by a regulation, anticipating that investors will come for investment in the Kingdom due to many minerals and their qualities. --More 2139 Local Time 1839 GMT
