Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the COVID-19 Follow-up Committee held its 76th meeting today, in the presence of the members of the Committee representing a number of relevant governmental entities. During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed. The committee discussed the epidemiological situation globally, as well as the cases reported locally. All precautionary measures carried out at the points of entry into the Kingdom will continue in full and will be further enhanced, the committee stressed. Following the meeting, Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali, who is also Spokesperson of the Health Ministry, said, in a press conference, that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is 3600106 cases, out of which 1173147 cases have been cured to date. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 251898. Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that 1595 new COVID-19 cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the new cases were reported as follows: Jeddah (385), Makkah (337), Riyadh (230), Dammam (141), Jubail (120), Hofuf (101), Khobar (89), Taif (65), Madinah (25), Baish (14), Nairyah (14), Qaryat Al-Ulya (12), Diriyah (11), Buraidah (9), Tabuk (8), Abha (8), Rabigh (5), Al-Zulfi (5), four in each of Kharj and Bishah, Yanbu (2), and one case in each of Qunfuthah, Dheba, Al-Makhwa, Al-Quraie Bani Malik, Al-Hadda and Layla. He pointed out that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 30251 cases, out of which 24620 cases were diagnosed as active and, hence, receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 143 critical cases. He pointed out that the cases confirmed today represent 76% for non-Saudis with 1219 cases and 24% for Saudi nationals with 376 cases. The number of the new recoveries is 955, bringing to 5431 the total number of recoverees, Dr. Al-Abdulaali said, adding that the number of the new deaths is nine, bringing the total death toll to 200. He called on whoever has symptoms or would like to check-up, to use the self-assessment service in MAWID application, and inquire or consult the Health Center (937) around the clock.
