Coronavirus' Developments Follow up Committee Holds 58th Meeting, Reasserts Committing to Directives Preventive of Pandemic Spread

Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health Dr. Taufiq bin Fozan Al-Rabiah, the Coronavirus' Developments Tracing Committee held its 58th meeting. During the meeting, the committee reviewed relevant reports and developments and the virus pandemic situation, all over the world, as well as cases reported in the Kingdom.
The committee emphasized on continuation of applying precautionary procedures, at the entry crossings, cementing them and taking preventive measurements, to combat the pandemic and stop its spread. Commenting on the situation, the committee thanked the public for positively interacting with the curfew imposed and urge them, to furtherly stay at home, and not to go out except for ultimate necessity.
Following the meeting, the daily press conference on the situation of the pandemic was held, and the Official Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulali, in the presence of the Security Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoob briefed media men that the tally of the pandemic, all over the world, is over 2.1 million cases.
Shedding light on the situation in the Kingdom, Al-Abdulali added that the number of the cases in the Kingdom is 7142, 6006 of them resembling the actively positive cases, about 74 are critical, meanwhile the number of the recovered is 1049, as new 59 cases were reported, recently. Deaths toll stand at 87 as 4 new deaths were reported of Non-Saudis, two in Jeddah and another in Makkah, with a third in Tabuk, with their ages ranging from 14 to 82 years old.
Abdulali considered the active scanning in the pandemic control process as a precautionary tool, for depending on field survey through specialized medical teams, a matter that helped in testing over 50 per cent of the newly known cases today, and exactly in figures 400 cases reported today.
He stated that the tool is a technique of preventive medical package, concluding by exhorting the public to abide by staying at home and keep away from social engaging to limit the spread of the pandemic.
