The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has announced the transfer of (5) international destinations and two domestic destinations to Terminal (1) at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The domestic destinations from Jeddah to Dammam, and Jeddah to Al-Qassim, while the international destinations include flights from Jeddah to Cairo, Beirut, Khartoum, Kuwait and Nairobi. The transfer will start Sunday the 29th of December via round trip flights on the national carrier, Saudi Arabian Airlines. This will bring the total number of domestic and international destinations that have been transferred to the new airport to (42) domestic and international destinations. GACA clarified that the plan for the transfer of flights to terminal (1) at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport was prepared in cooperation with airliners, led by Saudi Arabian Airlines, and the rest of the national and international carriers. The transfer will progressively increase and the movement of flights would be gradual to ensure high efficiency in the operation of terminal (1) at the new founder's airport. It is worth noting that at an earlier date, Saudi Arabian Airlines has transferred its operations of (35) domestic and international destinations, to Terminal (1) at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport.
