The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced the transfer of (7) international European destinations to Terminal (1) at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA). The flights will be operating from Jeddah to Athens, Rome, Milan, Geneva, Vienna, Munich and Frankfurt, starting Monday the 28th of October 2019. The flights will be handled by the national carrier via Saudi Arabian Airlines (round trip), bringing the total number of domestic and international destinations transferred to the new airport to (35) destinations. GACA explained that the plan to transfer flights to Terminal (1) at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport has been prepared in cooperation with airliners, such as, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and other national and international carriers. The flights will be progressively increased to ensure high efficiency in the operation of Terminal 1 at the new Founder's airport. The first flight from the new King Abdulaziz International Airport to Athens International Airport will take off on Monday, the 28th of October. Other destinations (Rome, Frankfurt, Geneva, Munich, Milan, and Vienna) will start operation on Sunday the 3rd of November via the national carrier, Saudi Arabian Airlines. It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabian Airlines has previously transferred its operations and flights to (28) domestic and international destinations, to Terminal (1) at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport.
