The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has announced the launch of the first of its international destinations at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport Terminal 1 in Jeddah. The flights will be from Jeddah to Abu Dhabi International Airport in the UAE, as well as Bahrain International Airport and Muscat International Airport. All flights will be operated (round trip) through the Kingdom's national carrier, Saudi Arabian Airlines. GACA further explained that the international flights at the new KAIA Terminal 1 will be incremented gradually, where it will start with Abu Dhabi and Bahrain starting on the 9th of August. A third destination will be added on the 10th of August to Muscat International Airport in Oman. The first daily flights will depart the New KAIA Terminal 1 to Abu Dhabi International Airport, followed by flights to Bahrain International Airport. The third destination will be operated to Muscat International Airport four times a week, via the national carrier, Saudi Arabian Airlines. It is worth noting, that Saudi Arabian Airlines has previously transferred the operation and flights of 21 of its domestic destinations to Terminal 1 at the New King Abdulaziz International Airport. The transferred destinations included, (AlBaha, AlDawadmi, AlQaisumah, Tabuk, Yanbu, AlGurayat, Arar, Al wajeh, Alula, AlHafuf, Turaif, Jazan, Sharufah, AlTaif, Aljouf, Bisha, Hail, and Rafha).
