Minister of Health Dr Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane said the directives of Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard to allocate SR 41 billion from the expected surplus in this year's general budget for the implementation of service and development projects, notably the health projects, will ensure the welfare of the citizens. In a press statement here on Monday, Dr Al-Mane said the money due to be allocated to the Health Ministry would positively contribute to carrying out the plans set for the implementation programs in the domains of preventive medicine, clinical and rehabilitation medicine through the primary health care centers in all regions of the Kingdom. He noted that arrangements are underway to settle tenders for the implementation of projects of 150 health centers, earlier approved by the King within the framework of the project of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques for setting up 2000 primary health care centers. Dr Al-Mane pointed out that SR 14 billion have been allocated for the health sector, adding that '75 percent of the health services in the country are extended by the Health Ministry'.
