The President of Saudi Human Rights Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Anti-Trafficking in Persons Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the Government Forum to Combat Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East, currently being held in Manama, Bahrain. The Forum will continue for 3 days with the participation of a number of GCC countries, friendly countries and representatives of the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Dr. Al-Awwad said in a press statement that the Kingdom is fighting this crime, citing the issuance of a number of regulations and procedures that guarantee the dignified life of citizens and residents alike, including the system of combating crimes of trafficking in persons, as well as a national plan to combat this crime. This participation comes within the framework of the Kingdom's efforts to combat crimes of trafficking in persons and to work on all that can reduce this crime and punish the perpetrators.
