Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that eighty-nine years of achievements and initiatives have begun with a historical step resulting in a vision realized what the world will be in the future. The paper said that the first initiative was in 1945 when the Kingdom joined United Nations to become one of the founding countries of it. Al-Yaum affirmed that KSA's membership was one of the most important achievements of the United Nations, whether at the level of political prudence, economic decision-making, or through financial support to funds of the United Nations development programs (UNDP). The paper also highlighted that fact that KSA is the 4th largest donor of development aid in the world and the 7th largest donor of humanitarian aid which seen as the first in the Arab world and the Middle East. It pointed that the most prominent evidence of leadership's wisdom in its adopting policies to maintain the stability of energy prices and the establishment of a special fund for research on energy, environment and climate change. Al-Yaum also affirmed that the KSA's most important concerns right now is the Palestinian issue in addition to bringing security and stability in Yemen. The paper concluded that the KSA is the founder of a number of organizations in international decision-making such as the Arab League, GCC, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Muslim World League as it is a member of the powerful Group 20.
