Arab ministerial committee condemns Iran's support for launching ballistic missiles towards territory of kingdom and populated cities
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 10 - 09 - 2019

The Arab Quartet Ministerial Committee for Follow-up of the Crisis with Iran and Response to its Interventions in Arab Internal Affairs condemned Iran's continued support for terrorist and subversive acts in the Arab countries, including the continued firing of Iranian-made ballistic missiles from Yemeni territory into populated cities in the Kingdom, which is a flagrant violation of Security Council resolution 2216 (2015), which states that militias should not be armed.
The ministerial committee, which includes Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, the Secretary-General of the Arab League and the UAE as Chairman, confirmed in a statement issued by its twelfth meeting in Cairo today, its support for the measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain to address these aggressive acts to protect their security and stability.
The Committee condemned the actions of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militias including the attack by drones on two oil pumping stations inside the Kingdom and the sabotage of commercial vessels in the UAE's territorial waters and in the Sea of Oman.
The Committee condemned the hostile and inciting speech of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese terrorist Hezbollah party today, and the abuses it contained against the Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Yemen, which constitutes blatant interference in their internal affairs; which is intended to provoke sedition and incite hatred; and which is an extension of the dangerous role of this terrorist party, which is considered as one of the arms of Iran aiming to destabilize the security and stability in the region.
The Committee called on the Lebanese government to condemn these blatant statements and interference by one of its main components, in the framework of commitment to the brotherly relations between the Arab countries and the Lebanese Republic.
The Ministerial Committee condemned Iran's continued development of its program for ballistic missiles and supplying the Houthi terrorist militia with them, condemning the launching of Iranian-made missiles, through which the Houthi terrorist militia targeted populated cities and civilian objects in the Kingdom, including the capital Riyadh, which was widely condemned by Arab and international countries, stressing that this poses a serious threat to security and stability in the region.
The Arab Ministerial Committee condemned the direct Iranian threats to international navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the threat to international navigation in the Red Sea through its agents in the region, including the targeting of a Saudi oil tanker by the Houthi terrorist militia in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, in violation of the principles of international law.
