A 48-year-old German national was shot dead in the southern Philippines by unidentified gunmen, police said Sunday.
Reiner Franke, a native of Hamburg, was coming out of a bar in Digos City, 990 kilometers south of Manila, when two men shot him late Friday, investigators said.
Franke owned a beach resort in nearby Hagonoy town, where he has been living with his Filipino wife since 1999.
Police have not yet identified a motive for the killing.
