The Secretary General of The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah arrived here today on a two-day official visit during which he will sign an economic cooperation agreement between India and the GCC States. In a press statement, Al-Attiyah said the agreement would pave way for a free trade zone between India and the GCC States. He said it would facilitate the flow of goods and increase commercial exchanges between them, pointing out that the agreement would not only be beneficial but also strengthen the economic relations. Earlier, Al-Attiyah discussed with Indian officials the nature of relations between the two sides and a number of other commercial and economic issues of mutual interest. The GCC is comprised of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
