An agreement of economic cooperation was signed here today between The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and India. In the signing ceremony, the GCC was represented by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem, whose country is the current GCC chairman and GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman Bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah and India was represented by Minister of Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath. Negotiations on prospects of establishing a free trade zone are now in progress. The ceremony was attended by the GCC ambassadors accredited to India. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
