The Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom Saudi Arabia (KSA) to the United Nations participated in a panel discussion entitled Promoting Digital Transformation and Global Partnership to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals, held here on Thursday. The seminar, organized by the Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission, in coollaboration with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, has taken place, on the sidelines of the high-level political forum on sustainable development, in 2019. In his speech at the opening session of the workshop, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Manzalawi stressed the need to make full use of the potential of new information and communication technologies to promote sustainable development, in the light of the digital transformation of societies, to best serve the objectives of sustainable development, noting the Kingdom's pioneering experience, in this field. The participating speakers praised the role of the Kingdom and achieving partnership with the United Nations, in this field, as well as the remarkable progress achieved by the Kingdom, in the field of information technology, reflecting its interest in Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
